CCUSNA WA Hubs Workshop Webinar Series: Hubs Examples: European Hubs Overview – Ross Weiter (Worley)
In February 2026, CCUSNA will host an invitation‑only workshop, “What are the opportunities and challenges associated with developing a multi-user CCUS hub in WA (for Kwinana, Mid-West and the Pilbara regions)”
In the lead‑up to the workshop, CCUSNA is running a series of webinars for workshop participants, as well as for the broader community of CCUSNA members and subscribers.
These sessions will explore three key themes:
- Setting the scene
- A deeper dive into each region
- Global examples of operational and developing hubs
The fifth webinar of the series will look at Global Examples from Europe. Ross Weiter from Worley will provide an overview of several active or planned CCUS hubs in Europe.
This webinar will be held on Tuesday 27 January 2026 at 11am Perth time.

Speaker Biography:
Ross is a Principal Consultant at Worley, where he is also the Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) Lead for the Asia-Pacific Region. He has 35 years of experience in all areas of the upstream oil and gas industry. This includes time spent in concept engineering, front end design, detail design, operation support and site work. His CCUS experience includes work for Chevron Gorgon, bp Tangguh, Woodside Angel, Santos Bayu Undan, Chevron Gorgon, PTTEP Lang Lebah, Occidental DAC, and others.
He carried out many studies covering design, workshop facilitation, technology assessment, risk assessment and costing. Ross spent most of his career working in Perth, with three years in Muscat with Petroleum Development Oman.
Ross holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering, Hons) from Curtin University of Technology, Perth and is a Member of IChemE and Society of Petroleum Engineers. He completed a short course in Sustainability Management Leadership by the University of Cambridge.
