December 16, 2025
DCCEEW are undertaking a stakeholder review to explore future policy options to support the development, scale-up and deployment of carbon management technologies in Australia. DCCEEW aim to better understand the opportunities, barriers and practical considerations from an industry and technical perspective. Carbon management refers to a suite of technologies and processes that help to remove, reduce or reuse CO2. This includes technologies that enable carbon capture and storage (CCS), carbon capture and use (CCU), and carbon dioxide removal (CDR) pathways. DCCEEW are seeking stakeholder input on how the agreed carbon management technologies principles could be expanded and applied across the broader suite of technologies to inform practical, strategic policy options
